Under the UrbanShift Country Project, the Corridor & Junction Improvement Plans (C&JIPs) are being prepared to support integrated spatial planning, compact urban development, and the creation of low-emission, climate-resilient green transit corridors in Pune. The project aims to improve travel efficiency, enhance road safety for pedestrians and cyclists, minimise conflicts between different modes of transport, and promote commuter well-being through safer and more efficient mobility.

The C&JIPs also focus on improving parking management, organising informal vending activities, creating attractive public spaces, and promoting low-carbon transport solutions, including EV infrastructure. The plans will serve as demonstration projects for the development and improvement of corridors and junctions in Pune and other cities by prioritising safe, inclusive, and sustainable mobility while contributing to the reduction of transport-related greenhouse gas emissions.
